In 2010 Tom Chilton and Tom Onslow-Cole dominated at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in Team Aon machinery. The drivers grabbed a win each, and Tom Chilton claimed the qualifying lap record. This year the two drivers along with team mate Andy Neate will be hoping for a repeat of last years success in the brand new Global Ford Focus.
As the track is both Chilton and Onslow-Coles local track, both will be hoping the car will be as competitive as it was at Knockhill, especially after a trouble filled weekend last time out at Rockingham. The extra ballast coupled with numerous collisions and mechanical problems meant that the three drivers were not able to capitalize on the pace they showed during free practice.
Having claimed a win at Brands last year, and still holding the qualifying lap record, Tom Chilton said, “I'm feeling confident going into Brands Hatch. It's my local track and I always seem to do well here. I still hold the qualifying lap record, which is a nice stat!”
“We found a couple of issues after Rockingham which we feel killed the cars performance a little bit so we've worked on that however with no testing we're not sure where our pace is until we get to Brands Hatch. I'm hoping that I'll be able to put the car right up there this weekend.”
