Team ES Racing have announced plans for a two car team in next year's British Touring Car Championship.
The Luton based team entered the series in 2011 with Chris James driving an S2000-spec Chevrolet Lacetti.
However, speaking the MotorSport UK show James – who is also the team principal – revealed their 2012 ambitions. “We are delighted to be able to prove our long term commitment to the BTCC and to have not been a flash in the pan or a one season wonder.”
“Moving forward the team is able to grow on solid foundations built in the first season, this will allow us to finish regularly in the top 10 and we will be looking to continue to better this.”
James added the team will be changing to NGTC-spec machinery for 2012 – aiming, he says, to make Team ES Racing “one of the top flight teams in the BTCC”. No specifics as to the cars the team will be using were released, while James would only admit to being in talks with various drivers to fill the second seat at the team, presumably alongside himself.
