Tom Onslow-Cole will race in the International Superstars Series round at Donington Park this weekend, the series has announced.

The British Touring Car Championship ace will drive a Jaguar XFR prepared by the Ferlito Motors team with support from his regular squad West Surrey Racing.

“It's going to be really exciting to drive these cars with so much power,” said Onslow-Cole, who turned 25 on Wednesday.

“I have watched some of the races and they are spectacular.  The cars make the right noises and they move at the right speeds.”

WSR chief Dick Bennetts said: “Tom is over the moon to get this chance to drive a 500hp touring car. He is a great young lad and I can't think of a better present for his 25th birthday.

“We have been watching Superstars for some time now; it's an interesting series so I am very happy that Tom has been given this opportunity. He is a very sensible driver so I am confident he will take to the big car well.”

The Jaguar won the opening round of the season at Monza in the hands of his new teammate Max Pigoli. Onslow-Cole joins compatriot Johnny Herbert (Maserati) as an additional name on the grid for their home event.
