BTCC Champ Shedden Joins Autosport Show Line-up

2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car champion Gordon Shedden has joined the line-up for January’s Autosport International show.

The Scot, who sealed the 2012 championship in his Honda Yuasa Racing Team Civic at Brands Hatch after triumphing over team-mate Matt Neal and Jason Plato, will be officially crowned at this weekend’s BTCC Night of Champions awards ceremony, and will take to the stage on January 12-13 to talk first hand about his triumph.

There will be plenty for Flash to talk about, having also secured the British Racing Drivers’ Club’s prestigious Silver Star, for the leading UK driver competing in a major national championship.

In addition to talking to fans about his success and 2013 charge, he will take part in Q&A and autograph sessions.

“It’s been a hell of a year, breaking through to win the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. Autosport International will be a great way to cap the season, and start 2013,” he said. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of my visits to the show, and being there as the BTCC Champion is something I’m really looking forward to.”

Shedden joins three-time Formula One World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart, dual 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Allan McNish and BBC Formula One anchor Jake Humphrey as confirmed guests for the show, with show director Ian France saying he deserves to stand alongside such illustrious guests.

“Gordon Shedden was a thoroughly deserving champion from another enthralling season of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. After winning eight races during the year, Gordon kept his head in challenging conditions at Brands Hatch, the sign of a true champion.

“I’m sure he’ll have plenty of great stories and insight to share with fans from his successful 2012.”
