Dave Newsham and Lea Wood will test with Speedworks Motorsport tomorrow, team boss Christian Dick confirmed.
Both drivers competed in S2000 Vauxhall Vectras this season, Newsham for Team ES Racing and Wood in his family-run Binz Racing outfit.
Newsham won twice, including at his home racing at Knockhill, on his way to eighth in the championship, while Wood finished 14th.
The pair will sample Tony Hughes’ NGTC Toyota Avensis at Donington Park, and Dick added both were in the frame to race for the team next season, alongside a likely entry for Paul O’Neill.
Newsham says he was keen to try and work something out for 2013, and that the test will enable to him to sample how the squad works as well as the car.
“I’ve been talking to Speedworks on and off for a while,” he told theCheckeredFlag.co.uk. “Christian offered me the chance to test and I grabbed it.
“The main thing is to sample how they operate and to drive the car. It’s a cracking squad. I’ve been racing them all year so it’ll be interesting to see what it’s like to drive.
“It comes down to money. I think they would like me on board and I would like to go there but it really comes down to money. I’m keeping my options open.”
