Dan Welch says a second Proton could join the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship grid this season, but only if they can make sure it is a “proper effort”.
Speaking at the Autosport International Show, the Welch Motorsport driver said the car was being built by the family-run team and could be out for the start season.
The team endured a number of mechanical problems last season but Welch, who told theCheckeredFlag.co.uk he was “pleased and really confident with how the car was running at the end of the year”, feels they cracked the NGTC regulations.
Who would fill the second seat remains unconfirmed.
