Glock, BMW & Deutsche Post Aligned For 2013 DTM Season

1 Mins read

Well-known partnerships between premium automotive brands and world-renowned logistic services in motorsport go hand in hand with each other, as BMW Motorsport will continue its assocation with Premier Partner Deutsche Post for the 2013 DTM season. The livery will now be sported by the BMW M3 DTM for Team MTEK‘s Timo Glock, who has had a long-term relationship with the logistics and communications company since 2004, having been a part of the jury on the “Deutsche Post Speed Academy,” which helps to prepare the next generation of talented racers from Germany for their professional forays into motorsport.

Jens Marquardt, BMW Motorsport Director, is hopeful that Glock may cause an upset or two this season, but glad the relationship between the two parties look to have a long-standing future: “I am delighted the partnership with Deutsche Post is now entering its second season following an extremely successful debut together in the DTM last year. Together with our Premium Partner, we were able to enjoy good results in 2012, culminating in BMW Team Schnitzer winning the team title at the end of the year.”

Deutsche Post’s Marketing CEO, Ingo Bohlken, looks forward to seeing Glock as an “outstanding ambassador” for the brand, for BMW and DTM as well, and goes on to express the fluidity of the relationship between the two brands: “There are two reasons for Deutsche Post to be delighted to continue as the Premium Partner of BMW Motorsport in the DTM. On the one hand, the companies’ philosophies are well suited to each other. Speed, dynamic, innovation and teamwork play a major role for both sides. On the other hand, we are also delighted to be able to continue working with our long-term partner Timo Glock in the DTM.”

Glock expresses the working relationship that both himself and Deutsche Post have enjoyed, and it is special to be drive the car with their livery for the 2013 season: “I have enjoyed a good, close working relationship with my partner Deutsche Post for many years. I am proud I am now able to appear in the DTM in the yellow that is so characteristic of the company.”

So, a championship winning car, an experienced driver and a Premier Partner – Could this be the chance Timo has been waiting for to finally enjoy success in a tough racing series? Wait until he floors it away from the lights…
