Buxton: “Pittard Is A Real Contender”

1 Mins read

SV Racing boss Danny Buxton feels new recruit David Pittard can be “in the championship mix” in his first season in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup.

Pittard was announced earlier this month as a member of the KX Akademy for 2014, with that backing allowing the 2013 Ginetta GT5 race-winner and 2012 British MSA Endurance champion to step up to the Supercup for the first time.

It will also be a maiden foray into the Supercup for SV Racing, formerly Scuderia Vittoria, who are best known on the BTCC package as a front-running Renault UK Clio Cup team.

“After a successful 2013, with some tremendous results, the chance to be part of the KX Akademy in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup is hopefully just the start for David,” said SV Racing director Danny Buxton.

“His pace is seriously good, he is a real contender and can race with the very best. If we can add that little bit of consistency to his driving, I’m sure he will be in the championship mix.”
