The Donington Historic Festival in May is set to play host to a unique 45-minute, pit-stop feature race incorporating some of the iconic cars from the history of the British Touring Car Championship.
Organised by the Historic Racing Drivers Club, the event will feature a grid made up of specifically-selected historic touring cars, illustrating the formative years of the BTCC.
HRDC founder and race director Julius Thurgood said: “Not only we will endeavour to illustrate all examples of the popular championship winners from the early years of the BTCC; the picture would not be complete without all the supporting class acts: Riley 1.5, MG Magnette, Borgward Isabella, Austin A35, Sunbeam Rapier, Ford Zodiac, MG 1100, Fiat Abarth, Alfa Romeo Sprint GT and GTA, BMW 1800, Ford Falcon, and so on.
“This unique race will literally be a dynamic celebration of the emerging years of British Touring Car history that is sure to thrill any race fan attending this spectacular historic festival at Donington.”
