A late announcement at Donington Park on Tuesday afternoon confirmed Mat Jackson as the third Ford Focus driver for Motorbase Performance to complete a 31-car grid for the new British Touring Car Championship season.
Jackson will therefore enter his fifth season with the Kent-based squad in 2014, joining Crabbie’s-backed Jack Clarke and double BTCC champion Fabrizio Giovanardi, the latter being his Airwaves-sponsored team-mate.
The 2008 runner-up therefore completes a grid of 31 cars, with a 32nd licence held in reserve for the remainder of the season.
Jackson turned up at Donington Park to take part in the media day’s morning official test session on March 18, ending 24th out of the 26 drivers that appeared on track as development of the updated Focus continues.
