The day after Mike Rockenfeller’s livery is announced for the forthcoming season, last year’s highest-placed Mercedes-Benz driver, Christian Vietoris, will run in Team Original-Teile AMG livery for the forthcoming year.
The 2014 C-Class AMG Coupe that is one of seven that Stuttgart is fielding this year, will be decked out with the logo on the car, as well as the team transporters and the German’s racing helmet and overalls.
Mercedes-Benz Service and Parts will be the primary sponsor of the DTM outfit for the next two years, as the division is responsible for the service and parts business that encapsulates the work that Mercedes does on a global perspective. Service and parts form the main backbone of how an automotive giant like Mercedes looks after its customers on a daily basis.
Vietoris, who placed fourth overall last season, scoring several podiums but finding that first win very much elusive, and is looking forward to making it to the top step in another season with Mercedes: “The “Mercedes-Benz Original-Teile” brand stands for first class materials and the perfect matching of function and vehicle – it’s precisely those qualities that are needed. To achieve my first DTM victory this season in it would be just brilliant. At any rate, the car’s appearance makes it look a winner already!”
The former F3 racer pipped fellow Mercedes driver Robert Wickens to be the leading light for Stuttgart in 2013, but the fight is yet to begin between the teams and between the drivers when the visors go down.
Now the build-up begins, and the waiting continues, as the DTM will be back in action during the first weekend of May, when 30 Years of DTM will be celebrated in the right way: at full throttle!
