Ocon Completes Qualifying Clean Sweep in Hungary

2 Mins read

After taking pole position for race 1 on Friday, Prema Powerteam driver Esteban Ocon will also start from first place for both races on Sunday. The Frenchman, who is part of the Lotus F1 Team’s young driver programme, set the best time for both races ahead of his Prema team-mate Antonio Fuoco, with the Italian starting both races alongside him on the front row.

The Mücke Motorsport pairing of Austrian Lucas Auer and Swede Felix Rosenqvist will start both races from third and fourth, with teenager Max Verstappen in fifth for both races for Van Amersfoort Racing. The Dutchman will be eager to put the disappointment of his race one retirement behind him to claim a good haul of points.

The Jagonya Ayam with Carlin pairing of Tom Blomqvist and Antonio Giovinazzi will start the races from sixth and seventh, with the Brit sixth for race two and the Italian sixth for race three, with Giovinazzi seventh for race two and Blomqvist seventh for race three. The Briton could not quite match the pace he showed in race one that took him to a front row grid slot and then the win.

Jordan King will start eighth in both races for Carlin, while his team-mate Jake Dennis will want to make up for his disappointment of race one by converting his race two ninth into a points finish, although in race three he will start down in thirteenth.

Nicholas Latifi will be another driver to want to claim his first points of the weekend on Sunday, and the third Prema Powerteam driver will start the two races from tenth and ninth. Felix Serralles will start race two from eleventh and race three from tenth for Team West-Tec F3.
