1 Mins read

Sixteen-year-old rookie Max Verstappen continued where he left off a week ago in Belgium by setting the fastest time of both practice sessions ahead of this weekends FIA European Formula 3 Championship round at the Norisring in Germany.

The Dutchman of Van Amersfoort Racing was quickest in the first session ahead of Mücke Motorsport duo Lucas Auer and Felix Rosenqvist, with Briton’s Jordan King fourth for Carlin ahead of current championship runner-up Tom Blomqvist of Jagonya Ayam with Carlin.

Championship leader Esteban Ocon was seventh just behind his Prema Powerteam team-mate Antonio Fuoco, while Felix Serralles (Team West-Tec F3), Antonio Giovinazzi (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin) and Roy Nissany (Mücke Motorsport) completed the top ten.

The second session saw Verstappen once again on top of the pile, with Blomqvist second and Auer third. Ocon moved up to fourth ahead of Fuoco, with Serralles sixth. Rosenqvist dropped to seventh despite improving his time, with Nissany again impressing in eighth. Jules Szymkowiak was ninth for Van Amersfoort Racing, with King tenth.

Qualifying for race one takes place later this afternoon.
