Jason Plato’s Grid Penalty Overturned

1 Mins read

Jason Plato‘s penalty applied for race one tomorrow afternoon at Rockingham has been overturned, following a successful appeal from his Triple Eight squad.

The double champion was initially handed a reprimand for his incident with the Audi A4 of Rob Austin in the third and final race at Knockhill last month, his third offence of the season.

This would have meant an instant grid penalty to the back of the field for Sunday’s opening race at the Corby circuit, however Triple Eight quickly lodged an appeal against the decision, which later on Saturday was successful.

Plato will therefore start race one at Rockingham in whatever position he qualifies in later this afternoon, qualifying getting underway at 15.40.
