Max Verstappen took victory in race one of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship finale at Hockenheim in dominant fashion by leading from start to finish.
The Van Amersfoort Racing driver was never troubled, and controlled the race to beat Mücke Motorsport driver Lucas Auer by 3.783s.
Auer made a sluggish getaway and was forced to hold off Tom Blomqvist at the first corner, but like Verstappen was able to pull away from his competitors, and he finished 6.360s clear of the Briton at the flag.
Blomqvist led a Jagonya Ayam with Carlin 3-4 finish ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi, while Felix Rosenqvist was fifth for Mücke Motorsport.
Carlin driver Jordan King lost out to the 2014 series champion Esteban Ocon of Prema Powerteam at the start, but fought back to overtake the Frenchman on lap nine to take sixth.
Ocon retained seventh ahead of Gustavo Menezes of Van Amersfoort Racing, who made a good start to jump ahead of Felix Serralles, who finished ninth for Team West-Tec F3 ahead of Sean Galael, who completed the top ten for Jagonya Ayam with Carlin despite contact between himself and Serralles just before mid-distance.
Antonio Fuoco was fighting with Galael for the final point on offer but damaged his front wing and dropped back to fourteenth at the chequered flag behind Roy Nissany, Tatiana Calderon and Ed Jones.
