The Macau F3 Grand Prix – Five to watch

4 Mins read

1) Esteban Ocon

The recently crowned FIA European Formula 3 Champion, Ocon has been in brilliant form in 2014, and is one-third of an impressive SJM Theodore Racing with Prema Powerteam team line-up at Macau that includes Ferrari Driver Academy driver Antonio Fuoco.

The Lotus F1 Team Junior driver was in sensational form during the main European Formula 3 Championship season, taking nine wins, including all three at the Moscow Raceway in July, and twelve additional podium finishes as he won the championship by 58 points.

He also competed in two Formula Renault 3.5 Series events for the Comtec Racing team, securing points for ninth place in his first race at the Hungaroring. He has also tested for both the Lotus and Ferrari F1 teams since the end of the European F3 season, earning high praise from both camps.

Ocon already knows he will be racing above the Formula 3 level in 2015, so will be eager to sign off his amazing season with another victory. It’s hard to see him struggling, he very rarely does.
