Files Flies to Carrera Cup GB for #RacingforHeroes

1 Mins read

The Porsche Carrera Cup of Great Britain grid for 2015 has been boosted yet further for 2015, with news breaking earlier this week of the addition of former Renault UK Clio Cup champion Josh Files’ entry to the championship.

Files has hoped to participate in the 2014 Carrera Cup GB but due to an unfortunate budget shortfall was forced into a relatively short programme contesting the Renault Clio Eurocup for Team Pyro in a bid to defend his title.

Whilst this bid fell short, Files gratefully received the opportunity to contest the Silverstone round of the Carrera Cup GB, in the official guest car run by In2Racing in Northamptonshire.

Despite a qualifying session that quite literally revolved for the youngster as he found the limit of the Type 991 GT3 Cup machine, he put in a mature performance during the races to grab one fifth and one fourth position.

For 2015 Files will join the Team Parker Racing squad. His car though, like that of Tom Butler in the Renault UK Clio Cup, Jessica Hawkins in MSA Formula, Zac Chapman in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup and Josh Cook in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship will carry the #RacingforHeroes branding.

The project run by Stirling Motorsport and based around the Help for Heroes charity aims to assist not only war veterans but also underfunded and talented British racing drivers. For more information on the launch of this fabulous scheme, click here.
