2015 RX Lites Series Open To Entries

1 Mins read

The RX Lites series has opened its entry list as it returns for a second season as a support series to the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

RX Lites experienced an exciting first season, which saw young Sebastian Eriksson win the first ever RX Lites Title and secure himself a Supercar drive as part of the title-winning prize at the final round of WorldRX in San Luis, Argentina. Eriksson showed he was no flash in the pan by securing a podium spot in the Supercar Final.

The RX Lites series rewards talent from its drivers as everyone competes in equal machinery throughout the championship. The cars are identical mid-engined, four wheel drives vehicles, capable of producing up to 310bhp. They are designed by Olsbergs MSE and built in association with Turkish motorsport concern Avitas Motorsport. This means that set-up knowledge and talent reveal the best drivers over the season.

In 2015 there are some small changes the championship. Cooper Tyres have come on board as the official RX Lites Series Tyre Partner after a successful year in 2014 as WorldRX Tyre Partner. Cooper Tyres will be looking to share their experience with the up and coming stars of Rallycross.

Also for 2015, as well as winning a Supercar drive in the final round of 2015 WorldRX, they will also win the Goran Henriksson Trophy. This trophy is named after the man who setup the famous Olsbergs Outfit. The second and third placed finishers in the championship will win a WorldRX Supercar test for a day.

There will be eight RX Lites rounds on the 2015 calendar, starting in Portugal before moving on to the United Kingdom, Sweden, Canada, Norway, Spain and Turkey with the finale taking place at Franciacorta in Italy.
