Peugeot Rally Academy driver Craig Breen has warned his rivals that he will be on full attack on this weekend’s Circuit of Ireland Rally, round three of the FIA European Rally Championship.
The Irishman, who is co-driven by Scott Martin comes to Northern Ireland second in the series standings having won the last round in Latvia in the 208 T16 R5.
Breen comes into his home rally as the favourite to win and speaking ahead of the event the Irishman’s confidence is high.
“The Circuit of Ireland is the best rally in the world to my mind! Even so, it won’t be easy because the likes of Kajetanowicz and Lukyanuk are very fast. I’ve got a significant amount of experience in the 208 T16 now, though, and my intention is to win this weekend and also go on to win the championship.”
Breen will be joined this weekend by Charles Martin who is making his first appearance in the ERC for the team having finished fourth in the Rallye Le Touquet – Pas-De-Calais earlier in the year.
The Circuit of Ireland kicks off with the ceremonial start outside Belfast City Hall on April 2.
