Thorburn To Contest Limited ERC Campaign

1 Mins read

2014 Scottish Rally Champion Euan Thorburn and Paul Beaton have announced they are to contest a limited campaign on the 2015 FIA European Rally Championship starting with next month’s Circuit of Ireland Rally.

The pair will compete in their Ford Fiesta S2000 on the Circuit as well as the fifth round of the series the Geko Ypres Rally in Belgium. The team have not ruled out competing on further rounds beyond this.

“I am very much looking forward to a new challenge this year” said Thorburn speaking on his blog on Tuesday.  “I don’t know how much of the ERC we can afford to do but the Circuit will definitely be a great start.

“We have very little experience on tarmac so feel this is the best way to gain the knowledge we need to compete at the higher levels.”

Thorburn beat multiple Scottish Rally Champion David Bogie to the title last year by five points.
