Antonio Giovinazzi: “All weekend we’ve looked good”

1 Mins read

Antonio Giovinazzi had a fantastic opening weekend of the 2015 FIA European Formula 3 Championship season at Silverstone with three podium finishes, having added a second place finish in race three on Sunday to his two podiums from Saturday.

The Italian, driving for the Jagonya Ayam with Carlin stable for a second season in 2015, leaves Silverstone with the lead of the championship with fifty-one points, eight clear of today’s race winner Charles Leclerc.

“It’s been a really good weekend overall for the Jagonya Ayam with Carlin team,” said Giovinazzi. “All through testing and the race weekend here we’ve looked good and worked well together.

“The last race was tight and I tried to overtake Charles [Leclerc] for the lead but couldn’t at the start of the race. I waited five or six laps to give it another go but that didn’t work either.

“Overall we’re looking strong and hope to continue momentum through to the next round in Hockenheim.”
