Danish racer Nicolas Beer has been forced to withdraw from the remainder of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship event at Hockenheim after fracturing a vertebra in his back on Friday.
The EuroInternational driver was hit by the Carlin of Tatiana Calderón at turn two when the Colombian driver missed her braking point on lap nine, with Beer showing obvious signs of discomfort trackside.
He was taken to hospital where he stayed under observation overnight, with the crash fracturing his fifth vertebra. He will be assessed before the next round of the championship at Pau in two weeks time.
The EuroInternational mechanics repaired his damaged car overnight, but will now be forced to watch from the sidelines. It is another disappointing day for the team, having seen Marvin Kirchhöfer withdraw from the second seat just days before the season begun.
