Craft-Bamboo Racing confirms TCR Asia Series Entry

1 Mins read

Craft-Bamboo Racing has confirmed today that it will contest the inaugural season of the 2015 TCR Asia Series, using its SEAT Leons that it currently campaigns in the TCR International Series under the Lukoil Craft-Bamboo Racing banner.

The team has seen success in the International series with its drivers Jordi Gene, Pepe Oriola and Sergei Afanasyev taking a 1-2-3 result during the Valencia weekend of the 2015 season. Both Oriola and Gene have taken race wins themselves and they are in the thick of the Drivers’ Championship battle whilst Lukoil Craft-Bamboo Racing are battling with fellow SEAT competitors Team Target Competition and the Swedish WestCoast Racing team, who run three Honda Civics, for the Teams Championship.

The team ran a fourth car at the season opener in Malaysia for experienced Asia GT driver Frank Yu and the knowledge that they have gained so far this season with all three cars will put them in a positive position to be strong contenders for the TCR Asia Series, which will run over four rounds.

Richard Coleman, CEO of Craft-Bamboo Racing is excited about the team’s expansion into the TCR Asia Series.

“Craft-Bamboo Racing is a firm believer in the TCR platform, with the International Series producing some fantastic racing that is adored by drivers and fans alike. We hope that the TCR Asia series can follow in its footsteps and give Asia’s motorsport fans an exciting new race series that will help promote the sport of touring car racing in Asia.”

Silverstone based Craft-Bamboo Racing has a busy year ahead as it contests the TCR International Series with three cars, the TCR Asia Series, the FIA World Touring Car Championship with Gregoire Demoustier in a TC1 Chevrolet Cruze and the GT Asia Series using Two Aston Martin DBRS9s driven by Frank Yu & Richard Lyons and Darryl O’Young & Jonathan Venter respectively.
