Tatiana Calderon took a gamble on wet tyres during race three at Spa-Francorchamps last Sunday, and forced her way to the front of the field, leading the race for a few laps before her tyres faded and being forced to pit for slicks.
The Carlin driver enjoyed her moment at the front, and despite losing the opportunity to secure her first points of a troubled season due to her pit stop, she felt like she had a strong race.
“I really enjoyed the race today – our strategy worked really well in the opening laps and I was able to get the lead,” said Calderon. “From there I had some great fights for positions and enjoyed the battles.
“We took a risk hoping for more rain to fall however it didn’t so I couldn’t get the tyres to work in the end but overall it was a strong race for us today.”
