Phoenix American Motorsports Hoping for More Luck at Sonoma

1 Mins read

The three Phoenix American Motorsports drivers are hoping for better fortunes at this weekend’s Sonoma Raceway rounds, following a disappointing weekend last time out at Miller Motorsports Park.

Kurt Rezzetano lost his GTS championship lead – which he had held since May – to Frank Montecalvo in Utah, after failing to finish any higher than eight all weekend.

Andrew Aquilante decided to start last in the first race and take fresh tyres. Although he moved through the field quickly, mechanical issues damaged his pace.

Preston Calvert‘s weekend was just as disappointing, finishing behind his team-mates in both GTS races, and coming seventh in both GT Cup races.

Heading to Sonoma, the penultimate weekend of the season, Aquilante and Rezzetano are in a five-way battle for the GTS championship, and still can’t be counted out.
