Support Of Paras Racing will only be present with one Infiniti Q50 for this weekend’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship visit to Snetterton, as Max Coates has been unable to secure a sponsorship package in time for this weekend’s event at Snetterton.
Coates made his BTCC debut with the Infiniti squad at his local circuit in North Yorkshire, Croft, enjoying a solid weekend alongside regular driver, Derek Palmer Jr.
Unfortunately, the 21-year-old has been unable to secure sponsorship for the coming meeting at Snetterton this weekend after meetings within the week, leaving Palmer Jr driving solo for the Infiniti outfit in Norfolk and remainder of the season.
Under the TOCA BTCC licencing system (‘TBL’), each entrant cannot make more than one change of driver per car during the course of a season except in genuine cases of force majeure. With the second Q50 previously driven by Richard Hawken, and then Martin Donnelly due to a case of force majeure, Coates was the one allowed driver change.
Therefore, TOCA have cancelled one of the two TBLs issued to Support our Paras Racing for the 2015 season.
