Motorbase Performance and Mat Jackson kept up their run of form at Free Practice 2 for the Silverstone rounds of the 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
Jack Goff improved on his fourth place from FP1 to move into second, 0.053 seconds behind the leader. Meanwhile, Colin Turkington is third, clear of Josh Cook and Tom Ingram.
“It’s so far so good, but we now need to go fastest in qualifying otherwise we’ll look a bit silly,” said Jackson. “Obviously free practice is one thing but qualifying is another. I feel confident in the car but we don’t what the others have got at this stage. Hopefully we can put ourselves in a position to score some podiums tomorrow.”
Aron Smith is sixth, ahead of Gordon Shedden, Andrew Jordan and Adam Morgan, whilst Rob Austin rounds out the top 10. Jason Plato is down in 11th:
“We’ve not got the car quite where we want it yet but we are making progress,” claimed Plato. “We know what we want the car to do and I’m sure we will be able to find a couple of tenths this afternoon.”
Notable drivers elsewhere in the field include Matt Neal and Sam Tordoff sitting 12th and 13th, and Andy Priaulx in 15th. Qualifying at 16:15 is shaping up nicely, with the top 23 cars already within 0.9 seconds of each other.
