Nathanaël Berthon believes that he and Team Aguri will be “even stronger” at this weekend’s Putrajaya ePrix.
Berthon made a spectacular Formula E debut in Beijing two weeks ago after he put in a remarkable drive from 17th to claim eighth position at the flag. The Frenchman, who also competes in the 2015 GP2 Series, was the only Team Aguri car to cross the line after his teammate Antonio Felix da Costa came together in an incident with Former Formula 1 World Champion, Jacques Villeneuve.
“It was a great start in Beijing, and I’m sure we’ll be even stronger in Putrajaya because we’ve prepared well and learned a lot in China,” claimed Berthon. “We’ve made some big steps and I’m much more confident.”
This season’s second race takes place in Putrajaya, just outside of Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur. The circuit is home to a number of long and demanding corners including a fearsome right-hander which will lead drivers onto the start-finish straight. Temperatures are expected to soar throughout the weekend and so Berthon says he has been preparing for a long and demanding 33 laps.
“Malaysia is a great country. It’s going to be good to be in a warm environment and the Putrajaya track looks like a really great layout.
From what I seen whilst I have been in the simulator recently, it looks like an enjoyable challenge.”
