The 2016 FIA European Formula 3 Championship calendar has been released but there is no place for the British round at Silverstone.
The calendar sees ten rounds, one fewer than were scheduled in 2015, with one of the race weekends at Hockenheim and the event in Portimao also losing their slots, with events at Paul Ricard in France and the Hungaroring in Hungary joining.
Silverstone had hosted races during the past two years as support to the World Endurance Championship, but the championship will now start with a World Touring Car Championship support at Paul Ricard on the first weekend of April, the first time the series will race at the Mediterranean circuit.
The championship will also follow WTCC to Hungary, before returning to France to race around the streets of Pau, while races at the Red Bull Ring, Norisring and Zandvoort will support the DTM Series.
The round in Belgium moves to support the Blancpain Endurance Series’ blue ribbon 24 Hours at Spa-Francorchamps at the end of July, before races at the Nurburgring, Imola and Hockenheim conclude the season.
