Jake Hill will compete in his first full Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season in 2016, driving for Tony Gilham Racing.
BRDC Rising Star Hill will drive a second Toyota Avensis alongside former Mini Challenge champion, Chris Smiley, after Gilham’s squad gained a second TOCA BTCC Licence (TBL) for the season ahead.
The 22-year-old made his BTCC debut at Croft back in 2013, taking a Jack Sears Trophy victory for Motorbase Performance in a Ford Focus before competing in Audi machinery in the Brands Hatch season finale for Rob Austin Racing.
Another meeting most recently came in the 2015 finale at the same Brands Hatch GP circuit, racing an Audi S3 under the AMD Tuning outfit.
“Having known the (Team HARD) crew for a while now, we’ve been working together over the winter period to secure a package for the 2016 British Touring Car Championship, and with the help of Mike Joseph from RCIB Insurance, we’ve been able to put together a package which hopefully we can hit the ground running with,” said Hill.
“Hopefully we can score as many points as possible, get a good solid year under our belt with the Toyota Avensis and carry (the momentum) into next year, and build the RCIB Insurance racing team up and carry it into 2017 and beyond.”
