Lance Stroll delivered another impressive performance to secure his second win of the weekend and the third of the season at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday.
The Prema Powerteam further extended his championship lead with a lights-to-flag triumph, with Stroll winning by 4.867s from Van Amersfoort Racing’s Callum Ilott.
Ilott also had a relatively quietly race, with the Briton being warned for track limits and deciding thereafter to consolidate his runners-up spot rather than attempt to attack Stroll for victory.
Maximilian Günther completed the podium for Prema Powerteam, ahead of Ben Barnicoat of Hitech GP, who in the early stages held off a train of drivers on fresher tyres before consolidating his own position on track ahead of Sergio Sette Câmara.
Sette Câmara led home the quartet of Motopark drivers ahead of team-mates Joel Eriksson, Guan Yu Zhou and Niko Kari, while the points scorers were completed by Prema Powerteam duo Ralf Aron and Nick Cassidy.
A lot of drivers fell foul of track limits during the race, with David Beckmann losing a top ten finish due to a twenty-second penalty, while Anthoine Hubert, Harrison Newey and Pedro Piquet were amongst those to take drive-through penalties for the same offence.
An early safety car was called upon when Mikkel Jensen was forced off the track by Alessio Lorandi, who earned a penalty for the offence, and then another penalty later in the race for track limits.
