Ciceley Hand BTCC Test To Clio Cup Trio

1 Mins read

Ciceley Motorsport’s Renault UK Clio Cup drivers Max Coates, Dan Zelos and Ollie Pidgley will get the opportunity to test the team’s BTCC Mercedes A Class at the end of the season.

The Lancashire-based outfit are contesting the Clio Cup for the first time this season, with Coates giving the team immediate success with a pole position at Donington Park and a first outright podium finish last time out at Oulton Park.

For Zelos and Pidgley it will be an invaluable first experience in BTCC machinery, while Coates will be able to draw on his previous one-off appearance in the championship twelve months ago at Croft in an Infiniti Q50.

Ciceley have firmly established themselves as BTCC front-runners in recent seasons, with Adam Morgan currently sitting fifth overall in the drivers’ standings, whilst both team and driver lie second in their respective Independents standings.

“Having seen the immediate impact the top drivers coming from the UK Clio Cup have had in British Touring Cars – and I know; I’m up against them! – we feel each of our drivers after a season in the UK Clio Cup will be ready for a run in the tourer,” said Morgan.

“We put great pride into nurturing our young drivers and really believe this adds significant value to what we can offer those joining our team in future.”
