Daniel Lloyd Goes Fastest In Second BTCC Practice At Croft

1 Mins read

Daniel Lloyd brought Honda and Eurotech Racing to the top of the timesheets in the second Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship free practice session at Croft.

The Huddersfield youngster left it late to pull off a time of 1m24.511s in the second 40-minute session of the day in North Yorkshire, knocking Tom Ingram‘s Toyota Avensis off the top spot by a mere 0.009s.

“It was a good run”, Lloyd said afterwards. “We put new tyres on it after trying a few changes to the race set-up. I was happy with how that session went. I’ll be there this weekend – it’s just about getting stuck in.”

Andrew Jordan jumped to third in the Motorbase Performance Ford Focus ST, while fourth place went to championship leader, Sam Tordoff.

The West Surrey Racing driver headed a trio of Silverline Subaru BMR Racing Levorgs, best of those being that of team boss, Warren Scott, just 0.379s adrift of Lloyd and ahead of his double championship-winning team-mates, Jason Plato and Colin Turkington.

In a strong session for Toyota, Rob Austin climbed up to eighth place overall for Handy Motorsport, the top 10 rounded out by the impressive Power Maxed Racing Chevrolet Cruze of Hunter Abbott and Jack Goff‘s WSR BMW.

Efforts in the second half of the session deposed Team HARD of a brief one-two lockout with Mike Epps and Jake Hill early on, the pair having shone on their way to 14th and 15th respectively by the flag.
