1 Mins read

Matt Neal will be absent from the final Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship race of the season after suffering from concussion in the second race of the day at Brands Hatch GP circuit.

The triple BTCC champion suffered a heavy impact with the tyre barriers exiting Druids after contact with the MG of Ashley Sutton on lap four of round 29, the impact leaving Neal shaken as his Honda Civic Type-R spun to a halt.

Honda confirmed that Neal suffered slight concussion, something his father Steve confirmed to TCF also.

Neal was one of four drivers still in contention with one race to go, but his demise leaves Sam TordoffGordon Shedden and Colin Turkington the three remaining contenders for the title.
