Panasonic Jaguar Racing Team Director, James Barclay, has said he is ‘proud’ of his team following their third points finish in a row at the Paris ePrix.
After a slow start to the season with no points from the first three races, Jaguar have shown an marked up turn in form.
A double points finish in the eventful Mexico City ePrix got them off the mark and Mitch Evans followed it up with a tenth place finish in Monaco and a ninth place finish in Paris.
Barclay put this turnaround to the development of their I-TYPE car, and the experience that the team is gaining with every race.
Speaking after the race he said, “I’m proud of the team for coming away with another points finish. This is a very tricky circuit and a new one for the Jaguar team but we brought both cars home and came away with a deserved result.
“Ultimately, the Jaguar I-TYPE package and the team are making very positive progress. We are demonstrating competitive qualifying and race pace.
“We are gaining so much experience each weekend and we’re looking forward to continuing our learning year with our first double-header in Berlin next month.”
Evans himself said that he thought the result could have been even better had he not drawn an early qualifying group, and was looking to score more points in the second half of the season.
“The circuit is very tricky but I really got to grips with it as the day went on and I was happy to be competitive in my qualifying group,” Evans said.
“If we had been in a later group, who knows how far forward we could have started.
“Ultimately, I am really happy to score points for the third race in a row and I am determined to continue to learn and race hard in the second half of the season.”
The result lifted Jaguar above FF Dragon Racing in the team’s championship, although they are still down in eighth place.
