Ingram fastest in first Rockingham practice

Championship leader Tom Ingram set the pace in the first British Touring Car Championship free practice at Rockingham.

The ballast laden Toyota jumped to the top of the times in the second half of the session, his 1:23.284 lap time putting him six hundredths of a second faster than Sam Tordoff, who was knocked back to second.

Tordoff was knocked back another position when Rob Austin put himself second with a time just a hundredth of a second faster than the Ford driver.

Andrew Jordan took fourth fastest, ahead of Adam Morgan and Mike Bushell, with the top six separated by less than 0.2s.

Sam Smelt ended the session seventh, ahead of Josh Cook and early pace setter Tom Oliphant.

Dan Lloyd rounded out the top 10.
