The ABB FIA Formula E Championship have confirmed that Jerome Hiquet will be the Chief Marketing Officer of the all-electric single-seater series with immediate effect. This will help to strengthen the growing workforce of the championship ahead of the new era of the electric racing series begins in December when the Gen-2 cars go racing for the first time at the 2018 Riyadh ePrix.

Hiquet has worked for a number of brands over nearly two decades and brings huge experience in marketing and events. He was listed as one of the top-40 innovators to watch in PR Week 2015, beginning his professional career with Accor Group in 2001 before developing marketing campaigns and devising ways to enhance advertisement, promotion and the consumer experience with companies such as Club Med, CRM and Tough Mudder Inc.

Jerome is excited to be joining the Formula E championship, saying: “It’s an exciting prospect to be joining a purpose-driven brand such as Formula E.

“Having seen the series grow from the outside and monitoring its tremendous progress in recent years, I’m looking forward to contributing to this incredibly forward-thinking organisation and further developing fan engagement and consumer-orientated activities.

“As a lifestyle brand builder, I can relate to companies that disrupt the industry and the ABB FIA Formula E Championship is certainly doing that in a positive way – in the sports, event entertainment and mobility sectors.”

As the all-electric racing series focuses more acutely on consumer-based activities, Hiquet will be required to transfer his expertise across a wide range of areas such as marketing, communications and media. It will be interesting to see what the Frenchman can add to an already successful marketing and advertising strategy at Formula E Holdings.

Alejandro Agag, Founder and CEO of ABB FIA Formula E Championship is excited to have Jerome on-board, adding:  It’s with great pleasure that I welcome Jerome as Chief Marketing Officer and the newest member of the senior management team at Formula E.

“The ABB FIA Formula E Championship continues to attract top talent across each aspect of the business – both on and off the track. Jerome has an abundance and array of experience – matched with equal levels of ambition to help drive the sport forward.”
