TOCA have announced ahead of the 2019 British Touring Car Championship season that Kwik Fit are to become the new title sponsors and the series is to be renamed Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.
Whilst this announcement sees the end of Dunlop’s name prefixing the championship in the media, the tyre supplier will still provide rubber for the series up until at least 2022 when their contract runs out.
The decision to rename the series has been a joint effort between TOCA, Goodyear Dunlop and Kwik Fit who see it as a fantastic opportunity to introduce new fans to the BTCC. As a series, you can’t get better.
BTCC Series Director Alan Gow told btcc.net, “We are thrilled to welcome Kwik Fit into the fold of the BTCC.
“This will undoubtedly enable us to introduce the BTCC to hundreds of thousands more motorists across the UK. It also gives Kwik Fit the ideal opportunity to further increase their brand awareness via the UK’s largest motorsport championship.”
Meanwhile, these sentiments were echoed by Kwik Fit Marketing Director Andy Lane, “We are looking forward to becoming the title sponsor of the championship.
“It is a fantastic competition with a strong heritage which will significantly add to our marketing activities.
“We are very excited about connecting with the fans and teams during the season ahead as well as helping raise the profile of the championship with our customers across the country.”
