Juha Rytkönen will make another appearance in the 2020 FIA World Rallycross Championship after his heroics last month in Kouvola.

The Finnish rallycross star will drive the Ferratum Team Ford Fiesta Supercar in the World RX of Catalunya-Barcelona on the weekend of 17-18 October.

Rytkönen’s second place finish in his World RX debut caught the eye Ferratum Team and they will be hoping he can do something special again, this time at the Spanish event which is now a double-header after the cancelation of the World RX of Portugal earlier this week.

Regular driver Jani Paasonen will step aside so the team will continue to be a single car entry.

Ryktönen said on the news: “Rallycross requires a lot of resources, both money and partners, for a layman. I really appreciate the cooperation opportunity with Ferratum. For me, it indicates that we did the right things with our team and our hard work paid off. I want to show my support to Ferratum by driving the best I can.

I have always thought that this is what I want to do, and I want to be at the top. I did not expect the start to be this good, though. In the future, I want to establish my position in rallycross, and especially in the world championship level.”

The FIA World Rallycross Championship resumes with rounds five and six in Latvia this weekend.
