The Swedish rallycross outfit JC Raceteknik has now announced they will be returning to the iconic Rallylegend in San Marino for the 20th annual running of the popular rally show for fans with two EKS-built Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro four-wheel-drive Supercars converted to rally specifications.

The team has chosen two very familiar names to be entered in the Legend Stars class, the Swede Per-Gunnar Andersson and the Norwegian Ole Christian Veiby, both with experience in rallying but also have driven similar cars in the FIA European Rallycross Championship. Jonas Andersson will be the co-driver for Veiby while Anders Fredriksson will read the notes for P-G Andersson.

The rally will be run on two days between 13-16 October with 14 stages to be included, this rally is mostly used for showing off classic rally cars but it is also a competition at the same time. However, both Andersson and Veiby have said they will only be entering it for fun. The team ran a converted Audi S1 for the EKS founder and 2016 world rallycross champion Mattias Ekström back in 2019.

“Rally Legend is going to be super cool and will be one of the highlights of the season. I’m very excited to finally do another rally – it’s been a little while since the last time. We’re going there to have plenty of fun while we make a great show for the crowd. I’m really looking forward to this opportunity since I remember Mattias Ekstrom was there with the same car a couple of years ago and it looked incredible.” Veiby said.

Just the thought of doing a rally with a Supercar with that amount of power, compared to an R5 rally car for example, is going to be a fantastic experience. It’s my first time attending the Rally Legend event, from what I have seen it looks like a great show with plenty of fans and spectators. It’s a perfect place to take that car out and do some donuts and big slides!”

“It’s going to be a fantastic experience to drive a Supercar on the roads of San Marino. I’m looking forward to the awesome crowd there and hopefully sunny weather. It will just be 100% pleasure with no stage or lap times to fight for. We’re just going to have fun and make a good show for the spectators – we aim for fast pace and big slides!” P-G Andersson said.
