  • I’m unsure about Huff as a champion, I think he will be up there but Farfus or Muller could be a force to be reckoned with. Shame there will be no Rydell or Zanardi in it this year though!

  • A lot of people feel it could be Huff’s year – most popular choices on BTCC.net appear to be Andy or Yvan Muller

  • Phil Goodall

Can’t see past one of the seats winning to be honest, probably either Tarquini or Coronel. With the number of seats on the grid they could probably employ similar team tactics to those that we have seen happening in the last few year.

I’ll take the punt and go for Tarquini to retain his title.

  • The Chevys are in the best position they’ve ever been. The Cruze was like a rat up a drainpipe on the street tracks last year, but often third best on permenent circuits in normal conditions.

Having less SEATs and BMWs between them and the front in the ‘normal’ races will mean that three dominant weekends – Pau, Marrakech and Macau – will give them a massive advantage.

  • I completely agree – which is why I feel Huff is favourite:

Marrakesh 09: Huff won race 1, third in race 2
Pau: Same scenario, Huff won race 1, third in race 2
Macau – Huff won race 1.

Rob and all the Chevvy’s will have to be wary of the TDi’s at Curitiba, Puebla and Monza though

  • The SEAT TDI’s are still very strong, and now that Coronel has FINALLY been given a Leon with afformentioned powerplant he will be the dark horse of the title race this year.
Also I don’t understand why D’Aste has been overlooked in the Top 3 Independents – it doesn’t seem to matter that he alternates between Proteam and Weichers Sport EVERY season, he always seems to be competitive.
But my favourite for the title has to be Yvan Muller!
