West Surrey Racing have confirmed that British Touring Car veteran Rob Collard will return for a second season with the team, once more running BMW 320si cars this year.

“It's great to have the continuity with WSR as they are a very professional team and their cars are very reliable,” said Collard, who endured a winless 2010. “They've been working hard on making the BMW more competitive, so I can't wait till race one at Brands Hatch on April 3.”

“We are really pleased to sign Rob again for 2011,” said team principal Dick Bennetts, “as he knows how we operate and we know how he operates. Together with our engineering team, he knows how to get the best out of the BMW, so we're looking for good results from the outset.”

New at the team, and to the BTCC, is Nick Foster, who stands before his first season in the championship after a career that has spanned GT and sportscar racing and rallying, Foster most recently competing the CSL Cup, where he finished fourth in points last season.

“I am delighted to have signed with WSR to run in the BTCC,” he enthuses. “Having been involved in many disciplines in motorsport, it is very exciting to be racing in the most competitive series in the UK. I am looking forward to seeing how the season shapes up.”

The WSR drive will see him trade in the E36 BMW M3 he drove in the CSL cup, for the newer E90 incarnation of the 3-series.

Bennetts added that announcements on the team's 2011 partners would be made next month, promising new sponsors for a team that whose cars ran largely devoid of logos in 2010.
