HiQ Expand BTCC Coverage For 2011

1 Mins read

HiQ have announced they will be increasing their coverage of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship for the 2011 season. The company, which sponsors the series Team's Championship, have introduced a couple of new initiatives as they aim to continue entertaining the fans both trackside and in-between meetings.

They are set to launch a new YouTube channel, which will provide unique footage from the paddock and interviews with the leading drivers in the series. Fans will be given the opportunity to give questions they want posed to the drivers to their reporter 'HiQ Bertie'.

HiQ are also creating a new blog at www.hiqbtcc.com, which will provide fans all the latest news and information. Budding writers amongst the spectators will be offered the chance to write race weekend reports, which will then be placed on the site as headline news.

Champagne moments returns, where fans are given the chance after each round to vote for the driver who produced the highlight of the weekend, with one lucky winner presenting the winning driver with a bottle of champagne at the next round.

The fast fit network will continue to give away race weekend passes to fans, while the HiQ Grid Girl competition, which last took place in 2009, is making a return. The HiQ team will also continue to post their news and competitions on Facebook, where fans can add HiQ Bertie or HiQ Beatrice, and on Twitter, by following @HiQ_fastfit.

HiQ's marketing manager Geraldine McGovern said: “We take our Teams' Championship sponsorship of the series extremely seriously and have been working hard to come up with a calendar of events to capture people's imagination.

“This is our fourth year of involvement with the British Touring Car Championship and we want to make it our most successful yet.”

“It only seems like yesterday that Jason Plato was lifting the drivers' title at Brands Hatch, while Honda Racing were scooping the HiQ Teams' Championship title.

“Going back there on April 2 and 3 can't come soon enough for us all.”
