Jeff Allam Appointed BTCC Driving Standards Advisor

1 Mins read

Former BTCC driver Jeff Allam will return to the championship's paddock to assist the Clerk of the Course in the role of 'Driving Standards Advisor'.

When he assumes the post, starting at Oulton Park on June, he will begin his second stint in the job, previously having served in the late-90s. Allam has an extensive career as a driver in the BTCC to his name, driving in the late-80s and early 90s – notably as part of the works Vauxhall squad.

“I'm delighted that Jeff has again accepted my offer of this role,” said series director Alan Gow. “The amount of very competitive teams and drivers in our championship is fabulous but inevitably can lead to an increased workload, particularly with matters concerning on-track incidents.”

“Therefore Jeff's highly regarded input will not only bring a respected driver's perspective to the table, but also help us to provide a more efficient decision-making process at the event.”
