Adam Morgan Blog: Back to the grind on home turf!

1 Mins read

Hi everyone, sorry that I haven’t updated you all for a while, but as ever, I’ve been working very hard to move Mercedes-Benz Ciceley Racing forward in its debut Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship campaign.

We had a weekend full of ups and downs last time out at Thruxton. Narrowly missing out on a top-ten placing in qualifying, we bounced back to earn two more top-ten finishes to add to our 2013 collection.

The eighth place finish in Round 8 saw me line-up on the front-row of the grid for the second time in as many meetings.

Despite making a great start off the line to lead the race at the completion of the first lap, I ran wide through Church Corner, ending any hope of earning my first BTCC victory in the Toyota Avensis.

I’m still delighted that we were able to leave the weekend placed seventh in the championship standings, tied on points with Pirtek Racing’s Jeff Smith. And as you all know, we’re heading to our home track of Oulton Park this weekend, which I’m really excited about!

I’ve been working hard on my fitness levels during the short break, whilst also testing with the team at Donington Park last week, which went very well.

I currently work at Oulton Park as an instructor, so it will be a brilliant buzz to race there this weekend in front of a home crowd. The turn out at this event is always amazing!

The support this year has been overwhelming so far, please make sure that you all stop by to say hello to the team this weekend.

Don’t forget that you can keep up with all of the latest day-to-day goings on via @adammorgan33 and @ciceleyracing.

Fingers crossed for a strong weekend!
