Injured Kaye Also Left On The Sidelines For Knockhill

1 Mins read

AmDTuning.com and their driver James Kaye will join the list of absentees this weekend, a leg injury preventing Kaye from entering the Knockhill meeting.

Kaye’s AmD Honda Civic will not appear on the grid for rounds 19, 20 & 21 of the championship, a twisted ligament in his knee the culprit towards his absence.

Team boss Shaun Hollamby has therefore also opted not to take his squad to the Fife circuit this weekend, but assured that they will be back for the Rockingham meeting on September 14/15.

Hollamby personally announced the news on his Facebook page, news which comes as a huge blow to Kaye’s chances of claiming the inaugural Jack Sears Trophy, the experienced BTCC hand lying seven wins behind the class leader, Lea Wood, after claiming two victories in AmD’s Volkswagen Golf earlier in the season.

“I am sorry to say that we are not going to be at Knockhill this weekend due to our driver, James Kaye, twisting a ligament in his knee”, said Hollamby. “This is an old injury but has blown up like a balloon since Snetterton. Rest assured all should be well by Rockingham.”

The absence of Kaye now trims the Jack Sears Trophy field back to four competitors once again, Aiden Moffat and the returning Finesse Motorsport team joining Wood, Liam Griffin and David Nye at the Scottish venue over the next two days.
