Rob Austin Racing Loses Main Sponsor

1 Mins read

Rob Austin‘s Independent Dunlop MSA British Touring Championship squad are hoping to continue in the series next year, despite the setback of losing their main sponsor, WIX Filters.

The brand partnered with Austin’s squad at the end of the 2012 season in a sponsorship deal that continued into their 2013 BTCC campaign, Austin himself finishing 11th in the final championship standings.

The WIX Filters brand have now announced a split with the team due to conflicting arrangements, leaving Austin looking for new sponsors for their 2014 BTCC assault.

“Sadly we are announcing that WIX Filters will not be continuing with its support of our team through into 2014”, said Austin himself in a team statement.

“While we greatly appreciate its support and our partnership in 2013, unfortunately its requirements for 2014 conflicted with arrangements already in place with existing sponsors.

The Audi squad were regular podium visitors in 2013 and claimed an emotional first win at Rockingham in the hands of Austin, and remain fully focused on bringing on board new partners for 2014.

“Our attentions now are fully focused on bringing on board exciting new partners for 2014 and the future. Clearly there is now a golden opportunity for other brands to join one of the most popular team-driver combinations in Britain’s premier motor racing championship and experience the same levels of exposure we have shown we are capable of delivering.

“Our fanbase is among the biggest of any team in the BTCC and we are sure our many thousands of amazing supporters will show the same dedication to our new sponsors as they did our old.”
