The Super Touring Car Trophy will provide a welcome support class to the 2014 British Touring Car Championship’s visit to Oulton Park on 7-8 June.
The five-event Trophy for historic touring cars between the years of 1991-2000 will see the classic machines return to a BTCC meeting, when the championship reaches its fourth meeting at Oulton Park’s full International layout.
The Historic Sports Car Club-run Super Touring Trophy began last season for BTCC cars from the 1970-2000 era, attracting famous names to compete such as John Cleland, Tim Harvey and Patrick Watts.
The races will be televised on ITV4 as part of the BTCC event and its support package, with machines such as Honda Accords, Nissan Primeras, BMWs and Vauxhall Cavalier and Vectras likely to star.
As well as these classics, the series is expected to be joined by a pair of Williams-built Renault Lagunas and several BMWs, including the 1992 Prodrive vehicle driven formerly by Alain Menu.
