Dan Welch will return to the British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton, replacing the outgoing Jake Hill at Team HARD.

Welch, who raced in the BTCC between 2011 and 2016, was one of a number of drivers to join the Team HARD squad for the Snetterton tyre test earlier this month.

He finished 25th of the 29 drivers running on Thursday, ahead of fellow Team HARD testers Carl Boardley, Jamie Bond and Adam Hatfield.

Welch’s car will carry 45kg of ballast for the first race of the weekend at Snetterton, and will run the competitor number 17.

The 36-year-old fills in for Jake Hill, who left the team due to “several” reasons.
