NASCAR holds final Next Gen test at Phoenix

NASCAR hosted the final Next Gen car organisational test over Tuesday and Wednesday at Phoenix Raceway.
Howie DiSavino III has joined Alpha Prime Racing for a six-race Xfinity schedule beginning at Phoenix. It will be his first time racing in the series.
For the first time since Indianapolis in 2021 (pictured), Sam Hunt Racing will run two cars as Jeffrey Earnhardt and Ryan Truex drive the #24 and #26 at Daytona.
After running much of the 2021 NASCAR Truck Series for On Point Motorsports, Danny Bohn has joined Young’s Motorsports for the 2022 opener at Daytona. The two parties have “one-race agreement with a vision to increase [Bohn’s] schedule in 2022.”
Alongside running for the NASCAR Truck Series championship, John Hunter Nemechek’s 2022 schedule will include a pair of Xfinity Series starts at Las Vegas.
A duo of inverted numbers will run Emerling-Gase Motorsports’ maiden NASCAR Xfinity race at Daytona when co-owner Joey Gase and Shane Lee respectively drive the #53 and #35.

While older brother Ryan runs the full schedule, Kyle Sieg will contest a part-time NASCAR Xfinity Series slate for family-run RSS Racing in the #28 car. It will be the team’s third car alongside Ryan’s #39 and a #38 with C.J. McLaughlin and Parker Retzlaff.
